Seat Alhambra and Volkswagen Sharan are discontinued
Two models are removed from production at the Volkswagen Group. We are talking about Seat Alhambra and Volkswagen Sharan, which have become unprofitable due to the coronavirus pandemic. It is expected that by the end of 2020, the last batch of cars will roll off the assembly line, after which their production will completely stop.
At the moment, the Alhambra is produced with a 1.4 TSI petrol turbo engine, which is capable of developing 150 hp. Earlier in the line of engines there were also two-liter versions for 200 and 220 hp. In addition, there is a 2.0 TDI diesel, also available in two versions with 150 and 177 hp.
As for the gearbox, a six-speed "mechanics" or a six-speed "robot" are installed on the car. By the way, there was also a 190 hp diesel in the line of engines. who worked in a pen with an electric motor. The hybrid version could even be charged from the mains.
Cars have been produced since 2010 and in ten years of production they managed to sell in good numbers. The sales charts show a gradual decline in demand, which plummeted with the arrival of the pandemic. It is not yet known exactly which models will replace the current minivans, but electric cars will surely be among them.
